Do you love to bake, but dont have the time to do it yourself, cant be bothered, too stressful or maybe you just don’t even know how to operate the oven section of your 4-burner cooker?

Fear of not knowing how to use an oven or what to do has discouraged many moms from developing a baking culture at home. One of the great ways to improve your kitchen experience is to bake at home especially with your kids, spouse or neighbours. It’s a great bonding activity!

Whether they are still on holiday or planning on going back to school, let’s look at the typical 4-burner gas/electric cooker in an average Nigerian home.

Abroad, I’ve seem more inbuilt ovens to the kitchen wall than the ones attached to a 4-burner cooker, so lets safely say 4-burner cooker oven in an average Nigerian home. There are different types of ovens – convection ovens, steam ovens and fan ovens. However, for simplicity, we’ll start with the basic most popular one.

Facts About Your 4-Burner Cooker Oven:

  1. The middle Knob is usually the knob controlling the oven section.
  2. The oven is practically below the knobs (obviously! Lol)
  3. The oven has 4 rungs counting from nearest to the heat source is 1,2,3 and 4. The 4th rung is closest to the grill heat source
  4. The best rung to begin baking with is the 3rd one, because it is removed much further away from the bottom heat source.
  5. You can pass a lighter through the large hole at the bottom.
  6. The plate where the large hole is , can be removed to reveal the rectangular burner which actually lights us when you introduce fire from your lighter to it.
  7. For a gas cooker, the picture below shows the rungs, large hole and the detachable plate below
