My ever overthinking mind was at it again – I made my own power breakfast cereal!

Running a mini milling company called Domestic grains Mill which powers Domestic Grains Initiative has enabled us encourage backward integration – finding food ingredients from the source of their value chain.
Using different components of our heritage wheat berries to make food on the breakfast table for my family is priceless!
You know that feeling – how you wake up one morning craving a healthy breakfast, and you ask your brain how do I walk my talk of eating healthy? Bingo! The idea dropped – after sieving my milled wheat berries, I became spoilt for choice – bran, whole wheat flour, unbleached All-Purpose Flour were beckoning me to go on a power breakfast adventure and oh, I powered it all up with our now popular millet flour, I set out to make something simple – yet powerful.

Somewhere between mixing and overthinking, I accidentally created a high-fibre breakfast cereal that could put big-brand boxes to shame.
I baked the mix into crunchy little flakes, tasted one, and GBAM! My taste buds danced deliciously. Not only was it delicious, but my stomach said “thank you ma” and I’ve never looked back. Now my mornings start with a bowl of crunchy, nutty, naturally sweet cereal that keeps me full till lunch—and gives me a smug sense of domestic accomplishment.

Lesson: When life gives you flour, make cereal… and maybe name it “FitFam Flakes” or “Juls’ Crunchy Mistake.” Either way, your gut (and your grocery bill) will thank you!
